Thanks to all the guys that gave reports when I asked yesterday.

I went out today with my buddy John, hit the sand at sunrise. No mullet to be found at the bait shops, and I only saw one pod at the jetties. Surf side was churned up real good from the steady north wind. We fished shrimp in the rocks and on the bottom in the channel side towards the end and wound up with an assortment of trash fish: pinfish, pigfish, hard heads, small jacks, and small whiting.

John suggested we move way back towards the boat ramp, and try to target flounder. I carved out a nice long strip of white belly meat from a 10" pinfish to drag on the bottom for flounder (this is a KILLER flounder bait back where I used to fish as a kid).

We didn't get any flatties but I did wind up with my personal best bullred.

Caught her on the trout rod, so she wound up walking me half way down the jetty before John could net her.

Only 3 other people on the north jetty, didn't see any of them land fish. Slow day, but the red made for nice action. Bummer that there were no mullet.

Visibility in the channel was about 3 feet, the sky was overcast but the color was still a deep dark green. The surf side was like a washing machine.
