Among other things... Most would probably not be considered young though.

Women's rights? What about Human Rights? The unborn cannot speak for themselves. How many of all the babies aborted would have been born healthy people? Is preventing life not just as evil as ending it? (abortion is ending a life, I was just trying to speak your immoral language there).
Everyone has the same equal right to get married. Everyone. BTW, marriage, by definition, is between a man and a woman. Your parents should have cleared that one up for you. Idiots, they must have been idiots.
Making billionaires pay their equal share? Bad, evil billionaires!?!? Why don't you just run for office, write and pass a bill requiring them to cut you a check every month and then shove it up your...? Idiot.
| ltorna1 wrote: | | So when does that switch happen from being young and dumb, to being old and seasoned and wise. |
When you start seeing the big picture. I don't see that happening anytime soon for you though.

You got crotchety down pretty good. There is a difference between greed and success. Your sense of entitlement is very apparent. FYI, you are not entitled to successful people's money and taking it in the form of higher taxes is like stealing. Especially if you use that money to grow an ever oppressive government.
Obama's campaign was successful because so many people in this country feel they deserve what they haven't earned. Makes me sick. _________________ Fish hard. You never know when you'll make you last trip south. |

I am a person that believes the more I am left alone the better I will be. Lately the government keeps getting in the way.
Yeah, tax the rich. Guess what that will get you. Higher prices on everything you purchase. Taxes paid by companies and corporations are part of their overhead. They factor it into the cost of producing and selling their products. The more you tax, the higher the price of the products they produce. Look at what happened when fuel costs went up. Food prices at the grocery store went up to cover increased costs of transporting food to the stores.
Simplify the tax code so that these people don't have to hire a gaggle of lawyers and CPA's to digest throught the miles of paperwork that is our tax code. That alone should reduce the overhead for large companies and reduce the cost of producing a product.
I have always taken care of myself once I left home. I was brought up that you don't get something for nothing. I can't stand it for somone to mooch off of me anymore than I can stand someone to mooch off of the government. I see alot of able bodied people that can work and should be working but because they made a choice to do something stupid. They can't get a job. Next thing you know they need food stamps, welfare, and section 8 housing to keep from feeling the pain of starvation. What did people do in the 1800's when there wasn't much of this government help going around? They got off their supple bum and worked for it. What have we become and where are we headed? China? USSR? N. Korea?
Dang Liberal Crap! Help your neighbor with a helping hand and not a hand out. _________________ Where's the March Hare???..

I think they need to start holding elections on weekends. That way they will get more people to vote. I know of alot of people who didn't get to vote because of their work schedule or didn't have the time. Just imagine if their was a national holiday just dedicated to voting. Might be long lines all day, but make it more of a tailgate party and have a great time. I'll bring the chips and dip! _________________ Where's the March Hare???.. |

I'm for a national voting holiday. And severely punish those who try to deny legitimate voters the right to vote.
I'm also for helping hands, and not hand outs.
Dang, we're in agreement! Problem solved! Can we work together?
Wait a minute, back to broad brushes...Let's resume the arguments. Let's see, where were we - I'm a lazy bum (not really) and you're tired of paying my way (you aren't). |

Things I have noticed over the past two years of college, maybe 70% of the folks in my classes are there on someone else's money, the same 70% have no intention of using the learned content to go out in the REAL WORLD and earn a living with it.
|
Or they are getting deep into student loan debt - $50,000 plus to get a degree in American Studies, Philosophy or some other major where the jobs are few and far between. I think the next big banking issue like the mortgage crisis will be from these folks with shiny degrees for which there is no job market defaulting on student loans. |
Most of these loans are backed by us, the tax payers, you are right, this will likely be the next big banking issue, it will likely be the next big give-away as well.
And yet we continue to support administrations that allow this to happen.
I can only surmise that folks don't mind paying for these things one penny at a time, this allows them to feel like it's free. The very people who vote in support of these ways are very likely to be the most impacted, nickel and dimed into poverty by their own hand.
Physical responsibility folks, Please... before it's too late! |

Now who's painting with a broad brush!
Seems as though you might have felt a personal attack in my words, let me clear this up, I don't know you, I did not single you out.
As for the rights of others, everyone has the same rights at this point (at least in our country), ask yourself why married women voted for Romney and single women voted for Obama, you can do the same for all of the others who voted either way. I am sure you can see fault in that statement as well.
I won't go too deep into my personal beliefs but to say, everyone should be equal, nobody should have to be taxed to care for others, taxes should be used for infrastructure, we should all contribute.
If YOU want to help those who won't help themselves, help yourself.
Anybody know the dollar amount of tax paid by Romney? or Gates? I'm sure they didn't pay their fare share... If Buffet wants to write a check to government, all he has to do is pick up a pen.[/u] |

I think I stole this quote from here, but if not, here you go:
"Arguing with a Liberal is like playing chess with a pigeon.
No matter how well I can play chess,
The pigeon is going to knock over the pieces, crap on the board, and prance around like he has won the game"

Honestly CS........................... Here it is Friday morning, I'm checking things out before heading off for a midday to evening bow hunt, and I read this! I actually DID laugh out loud and am still smiling as I type!!!
That sentiment says all that needs saying pal! Facts and/or the truth don't matter to lefties (remember, "the ends justify the means"), it's all about how they "feel", and making important decisions based on feelings bereft of any factual evidence is why we have our current situation! _________________ Dave

This is true - I've never been too concerned with facts. If I was all about facts, I would have become a scientist or something else stupid like that. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

The only guy left that even gets CLOSE to that is Rand Paul.
Too bad his pops retired.
