| Fished out on the end of the south jetty today from a boat. Mangrove snapper were plentiful, as well as triggerfish, spanish macs, and redfish. I got broken off three times on redfish that I couldn't turn around. I have never seen as many stingrays in the water as I saw today, you could have walked to the jetty on them. It was a great day of fishing in God's country. |

Never fished there. Is it worth while to take the kayak to fish inside the jetty? Not sure I would enjoy fishin on the jettys. What do you think? _________________ Protect our treasure PINS |

| I got hung up a few times when fish took me into the rocks. I finally did away with the one ounce weight and started using a split shot freelining shrimp. No more hangups and was catching a fish on nearly every cast. You could tear the shrimp into 3 pieces and catch fish even on the tail and head. It was some of the best fishing I have ever experienced down here. |

Stick to Fish Sass jetties if you want to kayak close to the rocks. The current and passing tankers at Port A make it big time dangerous to kayak inside there. Once you learn how to effectively fish the rocks, youll find it is some of the best fishing the Texas coast can offer. _________________ www.GetOnSeaLevel.com |

I saw a guy out there in a kayak, but the water is pretty rough out there's Lots of big boat wakes to contend with, but I guess it's doable if your comfortable in that kind of water/
I have to go home in the morning and I hate to leave worse every time we come. This message board keeps me in contact with the fishing and the area that I have grown to love. Until next time. |

I saw a guy on a wave runner towing some kind of buoy. Any one know what that was for. Guy could have simply asked me to move but instead drove right over my lines. I was fishing on the beach, FYI _________________ Stinger-A |

| I take my orange kayak out to the jetties about twice a week, my friend and i shark fish off of them on the surf side so i take my kayak out there to get the baits out, when ever we want red fish we just flip around to the channel side and throw out a small live piggy and just wait to hear the drag. kayaking out there is a blast, you need to be comfortable reading the waves and confident that if you come up to the rocks and you need to bail you can back paddle pretty quick. I like to go out to the green channel marker off of the end and just anchor and free line a live piggy. |
