Swellinfo.com is predicting knee-high or lower surf starting Wednesday and running at least through Saturday. Would expect water clarity, and hence pomp fishing, to improve all during that period. Very Happy Get your pomp reports in ASAP.

You just need to hit the surf. Not necessarily PINS. Preferred methods include live shrimp, dead shrimp, dead shrimp/fishbite combo. I like small circle hooks. They fight pretty good for being little guys.

Free line or weighted on bottom? Does it matter how far I cast out?

Use 2- to 3-oz weights on double-drop leaders, 20lb line, and 2/0 or 3/0 thin-wire circle hooks baited with Fishn'Strips tipped with a chunk of peeled shrimp. Cast as far out with a long rod as you can. Target both sides of the second bar until you find them. Pomps will come in closer, but your odds are best way out, which is why low surf conditions help.
