| the shad were thick at the mansfield jetties sat and we hammered the reds with them oversized and slots.they would not touch a mullet for some reason. |

Funny you bring up this subject because I was thinking about asking this question:
While I would like to use shad for live bait when I get them, they seem to be very delicate and more than happy to DIE right in the bucket.
Is there some trick to keeping them alive or is their demise a foregone conclusion and I should just be content with using their little corpses as dead bait? _________________ "Money will buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail." - Kinky Friedman

They are a lil tricky too keep alive.....The best luck ive had keeping them alive ( if they survive the castnet) is to keep them in a bucket with an airator, by themselves, and not overload the bucket. Changing the water often and kept in the shade but there is still collateral damage no matter what i do......War is hell! _________________ SOUTHERN CUSTOMS

| Caught some nice ones this past weekend at fish pass jetties along with a butt load of mullet. Best way to keep them alive is try not to touch them, aireator and change water frequently |
