First off, I want to thank Johnnyreb for going out to the surf with me and showing me a thing or 20 about surf fishing, and for the leaders. HELLA COOL GUY!!! Got a late start, arrived a few miles south of Bob Hall around 7:00, caught some mullet in the castnet and some whiting on dead shrimp. Threw out 2 shark rods with whiting that sat for 4 hours or so with no avail. Did manage 1 32" Red on Cut Mullet in the first gut right at dark (C&R). Lots of hardheads out and mullet wasnt too hard to come by. Learned a lot and got a new, expierenced, surf fishing partner. Had a little weed in the surf on my short rods but not too bad. Next stop......PINS!!!!

Atleast you caught a red, I was there from 7pm-1am with no red action. I seriously need to make my own leaders. I did manage all the skipjacks one could handle. Hardheads were in full effect on cut bait. Must have missed you. I was in a Vanilla dodge 1500 with a orange frenzy.
