Tried some dove hunting yesterday afternoon near Sandia. We set up several foam rubber dove decoys in a dead mesquite tree along with a couple of mojo decoys. We had several hawks check out the decoys in the tree. Finally, one of them got brave enough to attack a foam rubber decoy. He had a little trouble getting the clothespin to let go of the branch. Last we saw, he was headed north with the decoy in his grasp. Never did find the decoy. _________________ E Pluribus Unum |

Had something similiar happen to me on Tuesday.. Saw some dove land in the field next to mine. Kept my eye on them incase they were to fly over towards my way. Well a hawk was flying low to the ground, went right over them and in a split second managed to dive and grab one of the doves. It was a pretty cool experience and I think the hawk managed more dove than me too! |
