One of the best places to 'wave watch' is the seawall, just north of the Whitecap Access Road. A number of years ago, during hurricane warnings that we didn't evacuate, we went there and got some outrageous video of the waves crashing against the seawall, enough so that the occasional wave would breach the seawall and knock people off their feet. It was pretty cool. |

That's a great spot. A few years ago when one of the bigger storms was hitting La, can't remember which one, the waves were crashing into the seawall and then bouncing back out to sea until they collided with another oncoming wave in dramatic fashion. I watched a surfer catch one of those "bounce back" waves and ride it for a bit. It was neat. Crazy, but neat. _________________

Yeah Ive taken the kids there a couple times during hurricanes. Its the safest place to watch storm waves and tides. We went were there that time the kid got washed off the jetti. |

| Went to whitecap last night after dinner and watched some insane jetskiers jumping the big wave. They were getting some big air never seen that before. |
