hanging at the beach a couple hours ago with the family... kids running around building sand castles and all that. Around 6:30 PM, I'm guessing there was some sort of emergency down the beach, as a park ranger in a 4 door ford F250 came between all the vehicles and the waterline probably going 50-60 MPH. He did have his sirens going, but apparently he wasn't concerned with the fact that a truck heading into the wind with a siren on has a pretty short range.
I sure am glad my kids didn't run to the water at the same time he was passing.... hope no one else's kids did either. |

yeah...i was parked at the six. Me and the wife drove down to run the dogs and toss a few lures. Same deal..... 30 yds between me and the surf , with plenty of good beach behind us, and this peckerwood goes between the truck and the surf at 50-60 mph......never slowed down! I barely grabbed the dogs in time before he was even on me.....what pissed me off is i heard him hit the gas before he got to our camp My first thought was i hope every ones alright...but it was way outta line! Especially when another ranger come in behind him at the same speed, and went behind us!!!! He actually drove back north past us a while later, no passengers....doing 30mph....i through up my hands at him with no response! WAY outta line! Oh and by the way no other emergency vehicles were ever involved????? |

Thats not a safe part of pins to be going that fast. Dont they have a protocall emer or not for this? They dont have to answer to anyone? Do as they please till they hit someone! _________________ -STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS!- |

| For all we know he got a call of a kid that had drowned or something, and don't get me confused and think I'm saying it's ok to disregard everyone else's safety because its not. I'm just saying being a officer myself I know how the adrenaline rush accompanied with trying to figure out what your going to do when you get there can cloud your head a little. I'm glad no one got hurt. |

Like i said...hope no one was injured, that seemed to be the case, but Regardless of what the call was......it was unnesasary!
If his mind gets that clouded during those type of situations....maybe he shouldnt be in law enforcement!
Its ok to endanger 6 to save 1.......aint buying it! |

that wouldnt be a good defense when there is a dead kid smashed into the sand. ignoring the safety of others while responding to a call is not the actions we expect from our authority figures. that is completley uncalled for and those rangers should suffer some form of punishment. _________________ "When times are tough,

Apparently someone wasn't going 15mph if they rolled over. Most rangers and border patrol I see are always driving faster then the speed limit. _________________ Mastergunner, supporter of hardheads for state fish of Texas |

Police and emergency vehicles are exempt from speed limits.(and all other traffic laws for that matter) |

requesting right away from 5 or 6 year old kids building sand castles on the beach? I wads thinking about it, and I honestly think it was about 7 or 8 seconds from teh time we first heard the siren, until he passed us. That's not much time to register what's going on, get a visual of all the kids that could be in the way, and make sure everyone is secured. |

In general on the streets. I dont doubt that ranger was in the wrong. Been a long time since I looked at stats but the leading cause of death for first responders was going to and coming back from a scene. Like I said been awhile since I looked at stats. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |
