Capt. Joey Farah! Slipped my mind! He runs out of 37.. Definitely Capt' Joey Farah! He has been putting people on some major trout this summer.. No offense to Singletary's boxes of fish.. Since Capt Mike posts his customers catches, I am able to see that Farah has definitely been putting more people on fish this summer.. I would have to say give Farah a call.. If you want to make the most out of your guided experience!

The only guide that ive gone with has been Capt Noe Garza. Been happy with him so we've always booked with him. He fishes mostly baffin and the landcut. My next trip with be with Capt Mike singleterry though for 1 he puts fish in the box, 2 he has a wealth of knowledge of the area i like to fish (close to home).

Hey Murf if your going to compare and critique my ability to catch fish and put my clients on fish the least you could do is spell my name correctly. It's spelled Singleterry

Sorry I haven't gotten back to most of you guys to say "Thank You" for the kind words, I've been on the water everyday and haven't had the chance to look at the message board.

Mike

First post, been lurking for a while

Mike Singletery (sp?) is a first class guide. I have gone fishing with many guides over the years and Mike is the best I have ever fished with period.
Other than that be and bring banana.

I would be really upset if I paid 600 to 800 dollars and never lost sight of the jfk bridge!! I would go with a guide who is willing to spend the time and the GAS to go where the big girls are! Whether it be baffin, the cut, or even mansfield like sheka! I've been fishing with many guides from our local waters and bill sheka really does stand out! He talks to the fish! Literally. But I did see joey farah smack 30 trout the other day with ease. He had 2 boys and a father and you should have seen the smiles on their faces! That's what's its all about now! I will just be a lil ticked to pay a lot of money and anchor up 200 yyds from clems' pier

Most clients hire fishing guides to catch fish not to boat ride for hours. New clients want to learn how to catch fish and have fun, and don't really worry about numbers or size. Most guides will accomodate the client and the more experienced can wade and go after the big trout wherever they are. You fail to mention customer service and the way a guide treats his clients and his ability to teach. If the fish are biting close to home why run so far, especially when we have a ten fish limit here opposed to five down there. I have not fished in the Land Cut at all this year, and all of my clients have been very satisfied. Who ever believes or tells you that you have to go to Baffin or Mansfield to catch big trout is pulling your leg. If you have fished with numerous guides you should know that.

Actually it's the opposite for me. My family has a house on the island so I spend most my time fishing in the backyard. I specifically booked a trip with a guide for the purpose of learning how to fish the backyard better. Don't get me wrong, at certain times of the year I wand to spend the gas and time to ride to Baffin or the Land Cut. And at certain times of the year, you'll find me on the sand. But for a simple Saturday outing with the family or friends who don't fish much, for me, knowing the backyard better is ideal.

Sorry Iron Man.. I am not here to put down or slam anyones bussiness.. All i am sayin is do a little bit of research before hiring a guide.. For someone who has grown up on the water,I cant see paying that much money to go catch redfish trout and flounder.. if you do pay that much then you better learn ALOT from that guide... pick his brain and ask alot of questions... and Captain Farah will spill his guts when it comes to that!! Captain Singleterry is one hell of a guide also..In fact all the guides are the best! just ask themselves!!! lol
