Went to Spac for 15 min to toss a lure, and saw some guys joyriding and doing donuts in the channel between the jetties.. Hilarious! they were getting real close to the rocks and hoopin' and hollerin'.. Then they spotted a group of chicks walking on Npac, probably teenagers.. And they followed them, close to the rocks and I guess convinced them to get onboard.. Passing beers around in plain view to, as I could tell were definately minors.. And they started joyriding with them out to sea.. It was quite amazed to see that there were 4 big boys, and maybe 5 or 6 minor girls.. that's like ten people on a 17 foot shallow water skiff goin past the breakers.. I hope nothing bad happened.. Interesting.. Caught couple nice trout though..

I'm sure we will see them on the 10:00 o'clock news.

And if something happens, they and their parents will expect others to risk their lives saving them.

Job security! I had to pull a couple morons out of the channel 3 weeks ago when they rolled their Jet Ski in breaking surf as we were coming back in after the weather soured!

You would think that the state police and their three $500,000 boats would be doing something but i only ever see them trailered on the island.....

That boat is the proud property of the US Government Customs Agency.
I guess you could say it's OUR boat.

The DPS boats I like are the ones with the 50 caliber rifles on them they apparently bought for the Rio Grande.

Actually, they have several saves and a number of good drug and illegal alien busts already.

BTW: They are .30 cal, not 50's. Also, there is only one boat, the other two are still in the working up, training and prep stage.

As for the idiots, they are good for keeping up on the activity sheet. I have more saves this month than I have arrests. Wink

BTW: Just about every time I come down to fish I see some guys in tan shirts and brown shorts going out thru Packery in a 26' RIB with twins. Who are they and what are they doing? They're not police or sheriff. Actually, they look 18.

The DPS boats have Bravo 240 maching guns mounted on them, which is the 308 round. They don't do a lot of operating around here as that is not their indented purpose. These boats are freaking nice though, been on one myself.
