Thursday the Doc and I were out fishing in the 30 mph wind, having gotten a late start from the dock after dropping the kids at the State Aquarium for a day of camp. Being pressed for time we forgot a couple of things - Ice and Cash. We actually had a little ice but it melted pretty quickly. Anyway, this story is already getting to be too long. We pulled into the old Crab Man on 361, which I think they are calling something else now, but it still says crab man on the back door. Told the guy we needed some ice, but did he mind us paying for it with a debit or credit card, and if that was a problem we could buy something else as well to get the cost up to make it worth the transaction. He said he thought the card machine was broken, but asked how much ice we needed and left to go check on the machine. He came back with a bucket of approx 30 lbs of ice, said the machine was broken, but we could have the ice. I said thanks and told him I would stop by next time I was in town, which will be about 2 weeks. He said forget it. The ice machine was full so just take it. They only charge $2 I think for the 30 lbs. I'm going to send him a $5 bill in the mail so I don't forget.
That was really nice of that guy to do that. I'm going to try to give them my business whenever I can.
Does anybody happen to know the new name of the place so I can find the address. _________________ A flute without holes, is not a flute. A donut without a hole, is a Danish. |

Thanks for the help with the address. It's rare that you find that kind of service at a business. Hope they do well _________________ A flute without holes, is not a flute. A donut without a hole, is a Danish. |

I stopped by there for the first time after fishing a couple weeks ago. My ice was out and I only had a debit card. The guy inside gave me enough ice to top off the cooler and keep my fish fresh. He said the same thing to me, "no charge." Seems like some good folks over there. I'll be back. SWD _________________ Live Full |
