That is exactly how I do it. I almost didn't make it over beginning of May when I went back there but my truck was way overloaded and only a 4 cylinder so I had to get a long running start. I walk it to make sure nobody gonna meet me in the middle then back down the beach and go for it. Got about 10 feet from top and started to bog down so I let off the gas (because it was already floored I couldn't gas it over, my truck has no power ), reverse back down and try again. Because I had stopped instead of spinning my tires, the 2nd run was a little more packed down and a success.
