A couple of weeks back I saw a snake skin shed at a hole on the edge of our slab. Did I ever tell you that I am not to good w/snakes of any kind? Neither of us are. Well being proactive, I sprayed two cans of wasp spray down the hole, followed up latter with a handfull of moth balls. Well it happened yesterday afternoon while mowing, I saw him and he saw me and back down the hole he went under the house. It was a bull snake or whatever kind like that.Any common sense eradication advise?

Try lighting a flare and sticking it down the hole.

Your best bet would be to remove the things that attract snakes in the first place. First, fill the hole if possible to prevent snakes from getting in. Second, focus on removing any food sources (rats) that may bring the snakes in. Snakes and their prey use the same types of cover (holes, cracks, etc.) so getting rid of those hiding places would be a good start.
I know that most people are uncomfortable around snakes, but unless it is venomous, it is a good free means of pest control and I usually leave them alone.
