I usually use a flourocarbon leader tied to my braid, so I use the Seagar knot to connect the two lines and then palomar, improved clinch, etc with the floro to the lure.

A Double Surgeons knot to join my flouro and either a loop knot(Canoeman knot) or polamar, depending on the lure...G

Me too, very good connections. I'd suggest tying many different knots and pulling on them with a scale until something gives. This is VERY enlightening and cuts past opinions, BS and line manufacturer hype. Plus, it doesn't take long and is kind of fun. Wink

Contrary to manufacturer spin about fluorocarbon, it's not forgiving to some commonly used knots and/or poorly tied knots. I've never had a double Albright fail when used to connect braid to fluoro and a failure using a palomar on the braid is so rare that I'm having a problem remembering when the last time was!!! Shocked

I use uni to uni on flourocarbon or mono to braid. You only need a couple of wraps on the mono and three or four on the braid.

Braid to hook only I do a double improved clinch with 13 wraps. Billy Sandifer, Rodney Davis and I did an experiment in Billy's shop one winter's day and found that 13 wraps was close to 100 percent if using double improved clinch knot with braid.

for uni to uni(braid to mono or fluo) wrap the braid 10 times and the mono 5 or 6 times..braid to hook the fish-n-fool is the same thing your talking about just you go through the eye of the hook twice and you wrap 12 times...

it is STRONG and im pretty sure still the winner of knot wars(north american fisherman)

watched another test with knots and they used 15pound braid and fire line..the tied good knots and it pulled the tag end through the knot at about two pounds more than breaking strength(17pounds) the next test they burned the tag ends into a ball..both knots tested at around 25pounds...the tag ends pulled and stopped at the balled up/burnt tag end almost doubling breaking strength...i burn all tag ends on braid.... and have caught fish(150pound tuna) with a almost pulled knot resting on my burnt tag end...

The "Canoeman Loop"...
.

.
Simple, strong, but the abosolutely best part...the tagged end faces the lure and not your rod tip...less fouling due to grass...G
