With the Humble piers getting crowded (and expensive when you aren't catching anything except hardheads LOL), are there any good places to fish for free? No boat, and not really setup for wade fishing.

I am sort of familiar with the area (having grown up here) but new to fishing. Boyfriend is an experienced fisherman, but doesn't know the area. Great combination, right? LOL

We didn't get even a nibble on the little land strip in Oso off SPID, or at the backside of packery park. Just bad luck maybe?

Is there a pier off laguna shores (off waldron or yorktwon)? Are the t-heads any good? Railroad tracks off Holly over the oso?

Check out the sticky under the FAQ forum. Good list of places to fish without a boat.

You should invest in a copy of Ray Crawford's book Wade and Kayak Fishing on the Coastal Bend of Texas.

You can't ignore the surf. Either get a beach parking permit, or go south of the city limits, about 2.5 miles south of Bob Hall Pier.

With the parking permit head over to Packery Channel or the Fish Pass Jetties.
