Got to the south jetty about 9am. Fished in the channel, targeting flounder but hoping for anything. My wife set up her fish finder rig with a white gulp shrimp. I hadn't even finished rigging mine when she pulls in a nice lil flounder, her first ever. We eyeballed it and knew it would be close, so she decided to toss it back. We had several other bites and I lost one flounder right up close. So yes, she outfished me again. I'm getting used to it.

Water was green and looked good. Current was strong and the wind picked up until we left about 11am. Lots of mullet cruising through and something harassing them. We tried both bottom and top rigs, but got more bites on the bottom. Lots of people out there fishing, I guess no forum members. Heard that no one was catching anything down on the end, and didn't see anyone else reel anything in. A couple boats anchored in the middle of the channel, but thankfully away from where we were.

Went to the beach for an hour after the jetties. Beach was weeded up, but after the first gut it wasn't too bad in the surf. Was kickin myself for not bringing the surf rods. Oh well, here's the proof:

I wish my wife would outfish me! That would mean we were fishing together. I'd take that in a heartbeat. Very Happy
