Tuesday evening I was fishing the Oso Bay flats and three young men I'm assuming between the ages of 20-24 ran off with with my tackle box containing my car keys, my leatherman, and a columbia knife. I was just far enough in the water to where the were able to get away easy. The vehicle they were in was a black Ford F-150 extended cab. The year lookes like an 06 or an 08. This was a nice vehicle I'm not sure why they would want to steal my cheap box that was nearly empty. The items of value were my keys and the two tools. So, anglers be on the look out and secure your belongings. My lack of concern has turned into a 400.00 deficit that includesa new key (150.00) and the rest goes to repairing my window. Despite all that happened, I had a really good day catching one red and three drum all keepers within three hours. I would like to thank the Naval Police for all their help. Oh, I can't Forget a fellow angler out there who gave me, my catch, and my belongings a ride home.

Sorry, man. I hate it when people think they don't have to work for things and instead just steal from others.

This reminds me of a time I was wading the surf by myself at Mustang. I was on the first bar throwing a spoon, and had left a small cooler full of colduns, a folding chair, and a tackle box back on shore. I saw this pickup slow down when it approached my "camp", and the guy rolled the window down. From the corner of my eye I saw him look over at me, then at my gear, then at me again. He opened his truck door, got out, and was reaching for my tackle box when I turned around and shouted at him, rushing back toward shore like a crazed bull. I must have covered that distance in record time. Before I could say anything, he was like "I didn't know it was yours!", to which I responded "Bulls**t, I saw you look over at me before you tried to steal it". His face dropped and he began stuttering something about not being sure it was mine.

So, what? Even if it wasn't mine, that means you can take it just because the owner isn't around? I hate people sometimes.

Sorry. Had to rant. Embarassed

Had that happen at Mustang Island years ago while wading the surf with friends. They caught the guys too! They stole a friend's tackle box and an ice chest and even threw out our ice and small blacktip before they ran off with it. Evil or Very Mad

My thoughts exactly! There is no one around except for one person, so it must be there stuff. How do you explain that to the person you're trying to rip off when you get caught? Uh, uh, uh, thought no one was around. B.s., you mean you didn't see me several feet straight ahead??? I too can't stand people. Next trip I should put a hook on my belongings and catch people instead of fish. Lol

Wait till fuel gets over 4.00 dollars a gallon - these guys will go back to stealing gas and cutting gas filler hoses. Get you a new 6 gallon gas can and write Unleaded Premium on it with a black majic marker. Fill it with 5 1/2 gallons of salt water and 1/2 gallon of gas. Stick it in the back of the truck bed and wait for results. If it is gone, I bet you will get a smile out of it being taken.

Dont feel like the lone ranger we had our window broken from our truck and some stuff stolen from us ,As we were padling back toward the truck in broad daylight ,They saw us coming and they still broke the window
and took off with some gear. Cars were passing bye going to the base
and no care in the world they just did their buseness ,I couldve strangled them, No respect. Sorry for your losses. Cool

I've thought the same thing, then think "is [misc. materialistic item] really worth potentially killing someone over?" Then I think "it's not the item, it's the principal!!" & what better way to be scared off other than getting shot at? I don't know... a good solid beating + jail time might be enough Very Happy

Hmmm!

maybe yes, maybe no.

So you put a hole (or maybe 9) in their vehicle instead of killing them.

That would put a smile on my face! Even if they got away (with my stuff).
