Warning: the following report contains a exciting fishing adventure do not read if you are at work or there is a lightning storm outside! A/T is not liable for injuries you receive from attempting to recreate this adventure...unless you catch then its totally my fault

Day started off with good news and a A average in my class, hard work pays off...

Figured i would load up the kayak and try to max out drum for this month...

knew it would be windy but it wasnt too bad at first i got there at a good time...anchored up and started going to work hitting some drum

started getting slow and i threw around a poping cork with a purple/chart DOA shrimp

caught a few dinks and a keeper at 18" (trout)

Then it gets wild...

my left flush rod holder rod goes off set the hook and while im fighting i notice my tiger stick in front of my is slack...i reel in the slack and set the hook and set it back down...then reel in a nice drum for points...i left it in the footwell to take pics after i get the other fish

I grab my tiger stick and i think im stuck..i reset the hook and nothign but drag...then drag ...then drag...and a fish starts moving to the right of me, i knew it was big because it was moving faster then the 20inch drum do...

It was a log/fighter 30 minutes into the fight my other rod goes off...2 fish on managed to get the other drum in the yak, i throw it in the storage well and keep fighting the brute...

finally had to pick up anchor and stake out stick to go for a bit of a ride...

it took me 55 minutes to get the fish in the kayak on 17lb test...sounds like a long time i know tell me about it i had to fight it...very frustrating i ended up holding down the spool and pulling myself to the fish and when it would take off id let it go...

Here it is..

Caught it on a 4/0 lazer sharp circle hook with shrimp fishbites...

tried to get a accurate measurement but with chop and surprisingly still fiesty drum, and having to add another ruler to mine it was really tough

measured out to 46-48" ...

now the bummer is since i couldnt get a great measurement i can only enter it as a 39 on KW...and no Big Ugly lead for the team oso tournament...BUT im not complaining one of the catches ive ever had =)

OH! and i caught about 20 other drum =)
