After the weatherman canceled the Fog warning I loaded up and headed for Port"A". Stopped on the way at Clem's for some perfect size live shrimp. Got to the Jetty at 9:45 and rock hopped all the way out to the end. Put on a lemon rig and a live shrimp and caught an 18 inch trout on the first cast. Retained six 17-18's for dinner and freezer. The water was clear and cold with the sun peeping through every now and then. Great day to be Fishin'...

Awsome Report, it looks like you have jetty fishing figured out pretty well Cool That must be a pretty good workout carrying all that stuff to the end of the jetty and back Shocked

So that's what the end of the South Jetty looks like. I've never been to the end as I usually have a little boy in tow. Things may be different this year... he really has grown.

Nice catch and thanks for the pictures.

Do you mind sharing your rod and reel choices for the jetty?

Thanks again.

Frayedknot,
I use a 8.5 Ft steelhead rod made in Hood River Or. (Med-Heavy) and a 6500C Garcia reel with 20lb test Cajun Red Cast line. Also It helps to use a lemon rig to keep from getting hung up in the rocks. Good Luck...

Thanks for the reply TITELINE.

I have a similar setup: 8.5' Lightningrod Steelhead/Salmon,medium pwr; Garcia 6600 Rocket.

The reel is not yet spooled with line and I appreciate the tip Wink

I did have another question if I may, do you think my medium power rod will cast the terminal rig and popper or lemon rig well?

A lemon rig is great around rocks... Try this site.

OK this sounds like a pretty simple question... But it's been bothering me!

Where do you get all of the Lemon Bottles???? Even if you only loose one once in awhile... You have to go through more than you could get from actually using the lemon juice!!!!
