Literally. That's all I got today at the surf. Skippjack and a lot of blue fish. Went to M.I. just after sunrise, as I did yesterday and stayed 2 hrs. Went to SBH after that and all I got all day were skippies and a ton of blues all on mullet.
Blues were so thick I decided to go out to the first bar with my fly rod and see if I could entice them to hit a fly. Sure enough did. Caught 3 or 4 and had a blast.
Before I left I took a dip to cool off and get rid of the sand and found the current to be very strong. I was surprised at how it was ripping.
On the way back I saw a guy with a yak about 1/2 mile from BH. He looked beat. Stopped and gave him and his yak a ride back to BH so he could meet up with his dad.
Here is what the surf looked like around noon SBH.

| Thanks for the report Zia. What are you using to keep from getting cut off on the fly? I have hooked a couple of blues on my fly but they have cut through my 15 lb flouro leader. |

Very nice. Good on ya to help the kayaker - good karma coming your way. Surprised the blues didn't cut off your flies? Actually, I'm surprised you risked throwing them out there considering how low you must be on flies after that %#$@ jacked your gear. Thanks for the report. |
