| I see that as of the 5th of october moderate concentrations of K. brevis were found in the big shell area on PINS. Planning a trip on the 14th Oct. wondering if anybody has seen any fish kill or aresol action on PINS. |

I camped at the Nic around the 50 mile marker for Sharkathon. Everyone in camp (about 15 of us) had scratchy throats. If you were familiar with it you could smell the red tide. It was definately worse on Saturday when the surf picked up. I did not notice it north and everyone I spoke to who camped to the north did not notice it. There were no dead fish to be seen and plenty of bait and redfish to be had, but there was definately red tide in the air. Had we noticed it when we arrived Friday morning we would have moved north, but the surf was small and it wasn't till Sat. morning that it was obvious to us.
Good luck.... |
