We pulled a couple of drifts in the back yard on the evening of July 3. Mostly slow overall...the breeze was welcome after fishing glass earlier that morning (and the morning of the 4th as well). My son Matt, 9, caught and released this 27" red on a Gulp under a rattling cork. Caught it on his Zebco spincast outfit. Dad didn't have quite the same luck. Smile

Sent this pic to Ron for consideration in SA.

That was the only red for the weekend. C&R'd three trout that would have kept up to 21" on a variety of plastics, plus dinks and the given skipjacks. Floating grass was a menace. High tides Friday, low tides the rest of the weekend...can't wait to get back.

Bet that little Zebco was hummin'. Long runs tend to melt the nylon gears. Good job!

Nice catch. He will probably remember catching that one the rest of his life.

I will never forget a 7 pound channel cat I caught on a cane pole, when I was in the 3rd grade.
