I would appreciate any strategies for flounder fishing on the Laguna Madre. Where should I look for them this month?
What terminal tackle is needed?
What bait? _________________ <%\FLOUNDER{| Fever |

| The Oso, live mullet on the bottom, with attention to drop offs. |

| All you need are some 3in shrimp gulps (New Penny or Pearl White), and white jig head. I like to use those Bomber Stand up jigs. When the bait hits the buttom it stands up, making it easier for the flounder to pick it up. Gluck! |

I've had good luck using DOA Shrimp, twitched along the bottom. The strikes are HARD!!!
As Tyler mentioned, try Packery. I'd give a go around the boat ramp. There's a permanent eddy there that builds up a bar (along with the help of the boats getting back onto the trailer). Fish when the tide's moving. The water is way clear right now and the bars are easy to see. _________________ Dave

When fishing as above should I go down a size on the 3/0 circle hook or is a 3/0 just right? _________________ <%\FLOUNDER{| Fever |

Seems a little big to me. We use a 1/0 kahle hook and works just fine. The weekend of may 28th, we were down and had pretty good luck on the drop offs past the 361 bridge. 2-3inch finger mullet did the job! Good luck,

| Dittos to all the above, but throw mud minnows when you can get them, and try to find any fresh water drainage into the salt, even the smallest will surpise you.. |
