Planning on wading the area early in the morning but have a question about getting there before the front station opens.

Is there a way to pay the fee before entering when it's closed, or do I have to wait till it opens? Trying to avoid getting a ticket but dont want to miss the early morning bite

If they are closed when you get there just pay when you leave. You don't have to wait til they open. They won't ticket you, may leave a letter on your truck reminding you to pay when leaving. If you don't pay when you leave they may mail you a ticket.

The real trick to avoiding a ticket is to not park in the boatramp area in a spot marked for truck with trailer only. There is only 4 spots for cars without trailers.

You are allowed to park over in the day use only area of the windsurfing side if you are wade fishing the area.

I have been going over their wade fishing more frequently lately and talked to one of the NPS folks about the best way to do it and avoid issues.

good luck

What if they are closed again on your way out? Pins runners go back thru late sometimes after they are closed again.

I didn't ask about that. I suppose I'd call them to make sure all was good if that happened.

I went ahead and bought annual pass so I didn't get too much more in depth on all the what ifs regarding paying.

I focused more on the parking rules.

Maybe if they are open when I go through tomorrow I will ask them

Buy an annual pass next time they are open and leave the card on your dash. Of course park where it's legal.

Buying the annual PINS pass is like buying the annual STAR fishing tournament. It's just a given every year.
