Cool, thanks for the reply. I've been looking for some good wading spots. I've fished all up and down laguna shores and caught a few nice trout but nothing to get excited about.

i live on l.s. too. the oso bridge near the base is a good place at the right time.especially when its a little warmer.actually from the bridge to the north gate is good for wading.the coast guard dock is a good place too.and so is the seawall from the hangers to the pier all the way out to dimmit point. along l.s. road the area around lola johnson rd is good for wading.ive been fishing the laguna since i was a kid.the area along l.s. we ( me and a couple of friends) call it the back yard.from the boat hole to pure oil channel. its a nice place to play. and i only fish plastics and topwaters.except for drummies.welcome aboard.

Thanks, ironman....I got access to the coast guard pier and everything on base because I am in the military so that makes it easy. On laguna shores, i've pretty much just stuck to fishing from the duck blinds and on towards the causway and its always been trout that i've caught hardly any reds. I've got a friend who has a boat and we have been doing pretty good at nighthawk bay, but I've really been trying to get into wade fishing.

the bridge over the i.c.w./intra coastal canal / the ditch on spid.is the kennedy causeway. im really not sure maybe someone could set me straight on this one..but arent all the bridges that cross the oso the oso bridges/yorktown.bluff.ocean drive, not counting the r/r tressel. york town would be the mud bridge. right? someone from the bluff brotherhood should know this one.

Bridges I know over OSO -

Yorktown = Mudbridge

SPID over OSO = OSO Causeway

Ocean Dr. over OSO = OSO Bridge

bi golly i think u-r right big john i cross the spid oso bridge all the time. its been years since ive called it the oso causeway. some of here in the bluff kinda refer to it as the bridge ,that seperates us. from them over there. in a joking manner. in fact once we get our new heb under construction as i type.we will be one step closer to not having to leave the bluff.except to go fishing.

my buddy has a pier in between the mud bridge and the one that leads into the bluff(he lives on Roscher). we killed the reds during the summer on live mullet
i also caught my trout that won the cca tournament off his pier.

bite was best on high tide, and when the water was moving a little. it is unwadeable because you will bog down to your knees.

Very Happy

mudbridge.
rairoad tracks.
spid causeway.
ocean drive...

all the oso.

75% of my fishing is done in the oso, close to home and lots of fish in there...including the 31.5" beast on my wall
