I have seen these Yozuri lures at the store and my father has purchased a bunch of them. They look like 4-5 inch mullet imitating lures with lips. Some are sinkers and some are floaters.
Anybody have good luck with them? |

I use them to troll for spanish and kings on my kayak around the rigs and jetties. Work pretty well, just need stronger hooks and piano wire (80#). _________________

Caught my first (and ony)tarpon on a Yozuri down at Mansfield jetties in 2009.
Unfortunately he broke off in the rocks and took the lure with him. We were able to touch the leader thus it counted as a catch.
Yozuri's are expensive but they do work. |

They work great on peacock bass, piranha & caiman in venezuela. Haven't caught anything around here on them.

| Hey Skunked that looks like Guri is it? And I do like Yozuri lures but they are expensive and the ladyfish and mackerel seem to love them more than the trout. |

Roger that. They're awesome BTB (new acronym I learned). Their top water plugs are good too. Of course, I almost always use ribbonfish for kings. _________________ Fish hard. You never know when you'll make you last trip south. |

I've been hooked on using those and large Ratl traps since last summer. They work great and you can cover a lot of water fast. The ribbon fish usually can't troll as fast and drag you more in the kayak. _________________

Alright, this BTB trawling for kings and smacks sounds like a freakin BLAST. Summer can't come fast enough. I got a couple of great rappala swimming plugs that are similar to those yozuris, and I have been dying to try them BTB here. they have been killer everywhere I have seen them used: east coast for bluefish, jacks, striped bass, tuna, smacks, snook - Mexico for mahi, rooster fish, yellowfin tuna, wahoo and bonito. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

| Tyler, the lake we fished on was Camatagua. It's the water supply for Caracus. Extremely cheap trip. We were on a job in Aruba and stumbled upon the camp through people on the island. It's a very cheap camp with the guides included. I think you can stay there for a week with the guided trips everyday for about $ 400. So whatever the airfare plus a $100 van ride to and from the airport and your covered. |
