tried hitting some of my spots that have had stained water for the past few weeks. Combine the dirty water with overcast skies, so i figured i would try a black jerkshad. Got about 6 dink trout, 4 keeper trout, two were right on the border and went back, the other two were 17.5 and 22. and a nice red, and lost 2 more reds at the yak. mullet were everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Big, small, you name it. But the trout/reds were only feeding in the murky stuff, not in the clear water.

the misses took a pic of tomorrows tacos.

The trouts tummies each had a mullet, but despite all of the mullet being around, the redfish had no mullet in its gut, but instead had this stuff, plus some oyster drills, fiddler crabs, some dead seagrass, and other gunk. For reference, the baby crab is about 3/4 inch across.

Nice catch.

Two of the Reds that I caught recently at the Port A Jetties had a baby gaftop in their bellies about 3 inches long.

I have also seen the bottom of a beer can and a lead head jig in a redfishes belly.

Got some snapper at the short rigs friday and one of them spit up an eel just like the one in the pic. I might have to look at new lure options. BTW, my new favorite winter lures are SPRO jigs--red and white and white--charteuse! Caught lots of fish with them before the fish got smart and I had to tip them with shrimp. Got my limit with 'em!
