Parking pass still required for Packery Jetties? I'm scheduled for a 48hr partyboat trip this weekend, but if the weather is bad and we get canceled,
I'll check out PJs. Just hate to get tagged with a $500 ticket. |

The ticket for not having a parking permit at Packery is ONLY $300.00...... but you still need a permit!
I still can't believe the cost of that fine. You can get caught without enough life jackets in a boat and pay less than that!

I BELIEVE ITS A REGULAR BEACH PASS AND ANY CONVINIENT STORE ON THE ISLAND HAS THEM. THEY ARE $12.00 AND I BELIEVE THEY ARE GOOD TILL THE END OF THE YEAR.

Correct. That's what I paid for mine last month and it is only good thru the end of the year.
I wish they did them for one year from the date of purchase. |

I agree that they should be one year from the date of purchase. They have also gone up dramatically in price the past couple of years. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

I paid $12 or $14 for mine, but thought it was a one year long sticker. I better check on that, and I will get back to the board. _________________ GOBZA!!!

Yeah.... They used to be $5 and they are for a calendar year, ie. a 2005 sticker or a 2006 sticker. Since the Circle K's and 7-11 are the retailers, they had to make it as easy and cost effective as possible to distribute them.
My question for yall..... Are the beach permits in PortA good for Packery or are they in different counties?
my question for Tyler............. Richard, you live there and you buy your beach pass for 2006 a few weeks ago???? Why don't you stop at the CircleK down the street from your parents house in JANUARY and buy one????? Then you would get your 12 months out of it. |

Yeah, Until Packery I normally stayed around in the free parking areas just north of Fish Pass and south of Bob Hall. To do that Cleanup at Packery with no waiver of the parking sticker requirement that day from an email I sent to the Mayor I assumed it would be best to get one rather than get busted in a possible vindictive attempt at writing tickets to the BAC folks while we cleaned the South Packery Jetty. |

it's only free if you don't get caught. like most city halls promises, the smoke goes away whenever we get a good wind. politicians are full of ill wind. _________________ ccbobber |

It's the parking lot that is 1800 feet from the beach or as Nickaway calls it "Scott's Folly". To park directly at the jetty or on the beach in front of the seawall you need a beach parking sticker. |

| Is a permit required to park and fish on the backside of the jetty, closer to the highway? I was parked there last weekend, but did not feel comfortable not knowing if a permit was required. |
