Launched the yak really early to try and find some gator trout in deep water. No luck finding the trophy trout in the spots I scouted out the last few weeks, I tried the whole arsenal of winter lures. Thinking of going back tomorrow morning and monday evening.

I did manage a few keeper trout to 18 inches and loads of dinks on paddle tails and jerk shad, not a bump on topwaters.

Reds were in about 3 feet of water, working the edges of the deeper drop offs. My buddy got 3 slot sized on those drop offs, and two more drifting over some grass/sand pot holes around some spoil islands. All his were released.

The reds were agressive, hitting white gulps and swimshads regardless of the retrieve and the trout just nibbling on baits worked slow and deep. Water temp wasn't changed much by this one front, and the clarity gin clear everywhere except around the ICW, which was churned up.

Buddy with one of his slot reds, this one was about 22. His largest was around 26.

This one of my stringer came out blurry, water on the camera, but I actually think it looks cool.

felt like mid-high 60's. Definitely warmer than the air was early this morning.

It felt like the morning got cooler than it did at 6am. Very slow bite today. Only managed 2 keeper reds.

Sightcasted another red, 26" and a few more trout today, released a bunch too. Dan, I've resorted to putting fish in the "designated beer fridge" in the garage. Fishing has been steady, but still looking for the 32" trout...I have a good feeling about it though
