The trip is always worth going provided it doesn't cost you too much. _________________ certified whiting slayer |

| The Hole or Nine mile hole? Ive fished nine mile hundreds of times and fishing is always awesome. Its alittle ways down there but well worth it, plus you can stop on the way and fish many others areas that hold great fish. Scenery is nice as well, just make sure your boat can run shallow enough to really get in the good fishing..If you need some tips, just holler, Im sure everyone here on the forum can help out also.. |

| The hole used to be awesome. Has gotten crowded over the years. The reds that were so easily caught now run from you most of the time. I still catch them, just not in numbers like the past. If your going in a mako, you'll be limited to the deeper water near the old plane wreck. You'll need to be able to get up in a foot or so if you want to fish the rest. Nine mile hole is about 25 miles from Bird Island. Maybe 35 or so from marker 37. |

I eco what Skunked says. I've been there 4-5 times this year. Last 2 tumes with poor results. Lots of morons with deer stands mounted in their boats burning it up.
Late summer and early fall have been good there in the past couple years. |
