Hey folks ....
Some friends of mine have the Pelican from DSH chartered for a 12 hour trip this coming Wednesday and would like to add a few more to the 10 or so people they already have.
The cost is $170 including the tip. Bring your own goodies. This is a rate that you will not see with another group.
They intend to hit rigs for AJ, Ling and Grouper and hit any available shrimp boats for Blackfin Tuna if they are there.
If you are interested please PM me for further details. |

Wish I could join you. Looks like you might have hit a favorable window:
Synopsis...HIGH PRESSURE ACROSS THE WESTERN GULF WILL WEAKEN THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL PRODUCE LIGHT WINDS AND SMALL SEAS THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. FLOW WILL THEN RETURN ONSHORE BY THE END OF THE WEEK. INCREASING MOISTURE WILL RESULT IN A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. ...
Wednesday: NNE wind 8 to 15 kt. Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Seas 1 to 2 ft. ...
Good luck, and post some pictures of your trip. |

Good luck!
I have been doing these with this group forever but between a bout with tendonitis in my ankle and the fact I need to replace the fuel tank in my boat ($500) I am sitting this one out.
May see you at the docks when you come back in though.

Sorry you couldn't make it.
No pics but a decent day on the water. The catch was below average per Richard. Good people, smooth seas, good crew, nice breeze made for a nice day on the water. Fished down south a ways mostly on the rocks. Didn't see another boat all day!
One decent AJ and several shorter throwback versions.
Six Grouper, largest about 40lbs. 5 species, warsaw gag black scamp and strawberry
half dozen ling
a few chicken mahi
a few kings
several extra large snapper throwbacks over 15lbs
a few b liners not many fishing for them
Anytime you have a trip and want more people, I'd be greatful for another invite.
Thanks again |

| Any idea where you were when you got the grouper? How do you catch big grouper here? Where? |

| Somewhere around Ranzel would be my guess (4 hour run from PA). Most were fishing w/ large perch. My scamp had a 8" beeliner in its stomach 50% digested. The two larger grouper were caught off the only rig we stopped at, sorry didn't get the name/number. |
