Hit the Laguna early Friday before the winds picked up. Pino & I were blessed again to luck into several schools of reds and drum despite the seaweed. Water clarity was good and most fish were found near ICW.
We used the tail part of the shrimp gulps to get those drums to take a bite, while reds were hitting the gold spoons.
Good luck out there this weekend.
Pinos 27.5" RED
Yes those are drum

I don't know if you did it on purpose, but WTG on keeping more black drum. There's tons of the out there. Perfect for the fry.
Thanks for the pics, like the one of the school |

| Great report and photos. I' ve done several taste tests - blinded - with folks visiting from all over the US when we've been lucky enough to catch trout, reds and black drum. The drum have won every time. Congrats. |

How do you figure.. 2 people, you can keep 5 drum a piece.. Simple math 2x5=10. Look at the pic, notice there are 10 drum. 100% legal... |

Just guessing, but I think he meant nice job on keeping the black drum, as opposed to some of the more targeted fish in our fishery, such as reds and trout. Kind of like loading up on ever-present whiting and letting the surf trout enjoy another day. |
