I swear I tried everything and nearly everywhere around Emmords and KRS and couldn't find a keeper to save my life. I'm seriously beginning to doubt my abilities. I need a slammer trip to make me feel better. It was a pleasant day in the boat and ended up traveling out Packery just to say I did. The water was like a lake beyond the jetties. Only caught pup sharks and gaftop out there. A day out in the boat is better than doing anything else, well almost. I really need to find some fish so my wife thinks I know what I'm doing.

Only one dink trout for me on a topwater on KRS this morning. Water was TOOOOOOOO clear w/ no wind. Found lots of bait right next to the shoreline, but nothing really chasing it. Oh well...next time.

Man............................................... "to clear with no wind"..................................................................................

That NEVER occurs when I'm down there fishing: only when I come down for a SAILING regatta!!!!! Shocked Embarassed Rolling Eyes

I didnt catch to many this weekend either, caught 4 keepers on the edge of C.C. bay early saturday monring, then mid morning caught a couple keeper reds and about 7 that were 19" to 19.5" in deadmans (the furthest north one).

Sunday went to the flats by Pita ended up with 10 keepers, 2 nice reds and 8 trout on croaker.

Our best luck is wadfishing, especially last wknd with no wind drifting wasnt to good so we hopped out of the boat and started catching some.

we didn't find many fish in/around emmords on saturday. all of the fish that we caught were south.... WAY south. gin clear water, no wind doesn't always equal bad things.

did well Saturday in Emmords with plastics drifting, until the wind died. You just have to determine where they are on a particular day. Deep, close to ICW or somewhere in between.

Left the dock Sunday at 5:30. Set up and drifted in front of the windmill then down at the boat house. Caught fish until about 9 or 9:30. Even in the rain at day light.

Bone Super Spook and white 4" gulp shrimp... one thing I did notice is I almost couldnt move the spook fast enough or the gulp slow enough.

I've been skunked on my two last trips... a couple weeks ago and this past Saturday... it is really starting to hurt my feelings. Crying or Very sad

My usual haunts are Emmords and KRS... anchoring at some known producing spots.

3 trips ago I did ok drifting in high winds.... maybe I need to stick with drifting.

ANYONE producing on every trip? And if so, can you help a brotha out with some tips?

Here is a tip....look for the birds on the KRS. Very Happy around mid morning. After everyone moves out because there isn't a bite.

Yes actually.. Been catching every trip out.. All very close to the JFK. No reason to run 20 miles to find feeesh. I only went once when the water was up and we still got a limit of reds and a couple nice trout..
