| Ok so I'm a paddle tail, jerk bait, and gulp thrower but rarely to I use a weedless setup. I'm used to freshwater worm fishing so I know gamakatsu is a quality worm hook. I know how to rig them very well in fact, but my coastal weedless rig needs some work. Do you guys have any hook preferences when weedless fishing the fore-mentioned baits? |

I use the jigheads with the mono glued into the lead (get them at Academy). Once you set the jighead in the bait just arc the mono over the hook and push the end into the plastic. Been working for me.

TTF has some that are weighted and weedless along with Owner hooks. The TTF screw lock tends to come off if you have them loose in a box. Both pretty good. good luck. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |

I use wide gap 3/0 worm hooks and Texas rig them with a pegged small tungsten weight. It works better than anything else I tried. And I used the flutter hooks for a long time and I've tried nail weights and you name it...
I use the same rig for shadtails, doa shrimp, grubs, and jerks. I fish a lot of really shallow grassy waters and I have to go weedless often. I have even replaced the trebles on my topwater plugs with single hooks to cut down on grass fouling. |

| 4/0 or 5/0 gamakatsu ewg worm hook on an assassin is awesome. For a little bit of weight, I add a 1/64 oz screw in weight. Works on everything in the shallow grass. The weights can be found at landbigfish.com. The best assassins I have used are the white ones that have been left in the sun for a month or two. The color will change to a natural looking bone color. I tack mine to the fence and rotate them from time to time. |
