It's time (if they haven't already) for the authorities to take the description of those guys (especially the one with the red gotee) and ask the area gun shops (including Academy) to see if they recognize them. It would be nice to post a composite also. Somebody who shoots that much ammo has to buy that much ammo somewhere. My guess is that these guys live close to that area. Let's get these guys!

2 things:

1. God was watching out for them
2. Shooters were either Psychopaths or on drugs (meth, etc..)

I so hope for the Fishermen that justice is served to the shooters, be it an aligator or jail.

sounds like some ignorant people having a good time not knowing what they were shooting at. If they were taking aim at someone they would have probably hit them. But that is still really nuts. My .357 mag goes with me on the boat but wouldnt do much good against any high powered rifle. Maybe it would have made them realize they were shooting at people? At least everyone is ok.

Isn't it odd that so many shots were fired and not even one round, thankfully, hit the men or their kayaks? Especially with rounds landing as closely as they men described. I'm not calling BS or anything but I think even I would have accidently hit something with that many shots. Just scratching my head over this story for many reasons.

I would except for the part where the game warden was there. I would think there would also be a tape of the 911 call where shots could actually be heard.

We had an incident happen one time with the SFCCI. Some of the guys were out practicing long distance casting in a field outside of Sinton and literally had to hit the ground as shots were hitting near their vehicles. It turns out a guy and his son were target practicing one field over and didn't realize anyone was over there. They started calling that spot "The Killing Fields" Smile

I lived in CC back in the late 70"s early 80's and I seem to recall hearing news reports of some nut taking pot shots at passing vehicles on 37 by Labonte Park. Don't remember if anyone was ever put in custody.

Wow, good job to my bro in law Kevin on getting to those guys. As for the location and types of people roaming those shores... they're so backwoods they probably don't even need OFF! this time of the year, the meth fumes will keep the parasites away. Scary area, not even worth going to anymore.

The shooters were not afraid of being caught if they shot that many rounds for about a hour. They knew the area very well and will probably be back. I wonder if the shooters were some gang bangers out there practicing and decided to shoot at these fishermen just because they were there.....
