never ever, burn your tarp. Idiot friend of a friend at Big Shell years ago decided to throw his ripped tarp into the fire pit as we were leaving. I told him to throw it in the truck for later disposal. Turned around idiot had placed on coals. Huge fireball erupted, big black plume of smoke, Coast Guard sent the chopper to investigate. they told the idiot to smother fire and bury pit. Fed Rangers showed up and gave him an a** chewing. Never went with him again.
