Was thinking about heading south to Corpus this weekend. I've never seen a weather forecast with winds like they're talking about for Saturday.

Quote; "North wind 5 to 10 knots shifting northeast in the afternoon...then shifting east in the evening shifting southeast after midnight. Bays slightly choppy to occasionally choppy."

Will something like this typically scatter the fish? I mostly fish from Bird Island south. Thanks for your info..

Saturday - the fish will be scattered because of all the tournament fishermen. I'm going out just to potlick on professional fishermen's honey holes. With the North wind if u don't wade just run to the krl and start drifting you will be able to cover a lot more area.

Ah Yes! this is the question, to fish or not to fish.

here is the way I see it, this is the perfect time of year for exploring and any day on the water is better than not.

I am coming down this weekend and was planning on fishing out of marker 37 and running around looking for mr redfish but if there is a big tournament I may fish around Port Aransas instead. How big is the tournament? If it is a trout tourney wont most of them run to baffin anyway?

I have not seen too many reports of much catching going on lately anyway???

Here lately the better fishing is being done right before sunset and 4 hours afterwards. The area around Marker 37 should be okay but I mainly use Mullet and Dead Shrimp because the lack of supply of Live Shrimp. I barely got into Arties but I think the water is to cold right now that the fish are in the deeper waters.
But on the same note, I would rather be fishing than sitting at home watching tv Smile I'm not sure about the tourney...
Just my thoughts... Wink

Clem's had big live shrimp today, and plenty of them. Their piggy perch were 2 inches long.

The tournament is based out of PA I thought...problem is if you let tournaments decide when to fish you will never fish. Best I can tell there is some kinda big tournament in the area every week.

The tournament is out of Bluff's Landing.....there will be boats from Nueces
Bay all the way down to and inside Baffin....I've been told, Idon't know for sure how accurate the information is but there are 80+ boats.

I'm staying home.......

damn the torpedoes and onward thru the fog!

We are coming and fishing out of marker 37 Saturday no matter what! Tossing plastic no bait allowed and will take what we can get, after all it is a day on the water which is better than doing nothing at home. Hopefully the fish will cooperate.
