I have a few miles accumulated on American Airlines. I use to sell them to a broker out of Georgia who is no longer. Any of you all have any conections to someone who will buy miles/tickets? I prefer going through the brokers vs selling on my own because of the hassle. Thanks in advance! _________________ Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it. -- Mark Twain |

it has been awhile (several years) since i last sold any miles. but last time, i got $1,300 for 100,000 miles. between the wife and i, we have 100,000 miles each on AA right now. the way the broker would work is have me book the tickets for his customer and then send me a money order overnight. i would give him the ticket confirmation number and email the ticket after receiving the cash. that way the broker dealt with any customer/airline problems and not me so i prefer to do it that way. technically it is not illegal to sell your miles but the airlines can not respect a ticket booked this way as it is in thier disclosures and your condition of being a member.
i just used 75,000 miles to book a trip for the family in the comming months on one airline. also was able to get 5 each $50 gift certificates on another account with an airline for 25,000 mile.
all i got left are these 200,000 miles on AA and no way to redeem like gift cards or need for more travel. i will find a broker online but it is hard to trust them unless you have done business with them before. hence the question if any of you all had done so.
90% of these miles i get from signing up for the credit card offers and using once and then cancelling.
i do not even like to fly............ _________________ Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it. -- Mark Twain |

200k miles is a bit. Could fly anywhere in the world first class twice.
I have about 85,000 I have stashed away for a trip early next year.
but really check out points.com if you are interested in gift certs or other airlines. they swap them out for you.. for 200k I bet you could get close to 1000 dollars in cabellas gift cards. They are also websites out there where you can list them in auction styel formats. and AA will allow yo uto transfer them I just think its just 100 bucks |
