When I was a kid we would always have bets on who would catch the first fish, the most fish, & the biggest fish. Grew out of that pretty quick, now it's the big ones I want, to heck with the most. Doesn't sound like my kind of tournament.

| I think most people have a bad taste in their mouth as far as boat tourneys go. Too many boats on the water as it is. In this site you will find a very diverse group in regards to boaters, yakkers, and shore fishermen as well as pier fishermen. I think one of the biggest common factors of all is the interest of conservation. That being said if your not doing something to give back while you enjoy fishing and the outdoors then you are considered a taker. This tourney comes off as a slaughter fest. May the best man win, or should I say men since it is a 3 man per boat minimum. Anyway its not surprising to me that you have a huge disinterest in such a format. Good luck in that annual event in the valley. |

I t not a good thing to have folks go out to win money to see who can catch the most. This sucks big time and I pray no one I know will be a part of this. Wgare are our kids ,kids going to fish??????????????? if we keep this up

AND OK ... WHAT IF I WERE TO MAKE A TOURNAMENT WITH THE ONE BIGGEST RED ONE BIGGEST TROUT AND BIGGEST FLOUNDER PER BOAT... AND 1ST 2ND PLACE FOR EACH DIVISON ... AND THEN U MUST RELEASE THE WINNING FISH ALIVE IN ORDER TO RECIEVE UR PRIZE... WOULD THAT MAKE U TREE HUGGER ENVIROMENTALIST JOIN IN A LIL FRENDLY COMPETITION ....
AND I HEAR THAT THERE ARE TOO MANY TOURNAMENTS HERE ... WHERE ARE THEY ??? I COULD ALLWAYS USE A LIL MORE EXTRA MONEY...

Good point! As I said, I have no gripes with legal catches. I would like to sock away a bunch of pompano myself. The deal with Pompano is that they are seasonal. If you want to catch more than a couple you need to go during the fall on calm blue bird days. You might not catch 50 the entire year as some might do with Trout or Reds. |
