Thanks for the recommendation. Finally got the head over there and checked. I will now pass the word on this place! The head is cracked and they only charged me $10 to disassemble and check it!

Where in Corpus would you take the head from an overheated 4 cylinder Jeep engine to be checked for cracks and warping and machined flat if salvageable?

Another good person to contact is Dr. David McKee at TAMU-CC. I had him as a professor in a mariculture class back in the late 90's and he is an excellent teacher as well as a genuinely nice person.
