I've got 3 or 4 10'-Harrington 552 rods I built 35-40 years ago.

Reel in the low position;
Tournament casters lower the reel down 24" toward the butt to gain additional rod leverage. It sure helps in distance casting...
but that extra two foot of length also ...

I've friends there now and they thought the coughing and sneezing, runny noses were allergies; NOPE, it's the Red Tide...so yes, it's there!
